ANP to mourn its worker on Thrusday across Pakistan

 

Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh Chapter declared Thursday “a day of mourning” across the country hours after its office bearer Zainul Abideen was gunned down by unknown assailants in North Nazimabad on Wednesday.

Zainul Abideen was killed and his companion was hurt when their vehicle came under fire attack near Matric Board.

ANP President, Asfandyar Wali Khan and ANP President Sindh, Senator Shahi Syed condemned the killing of ANP worker in the strongest of words and demanded immediate arrest of the killers.

However, Wali also appealed to his workers to remain calm, and demanded strict action against the accused.

Black flags would be hoisted at all ANP offices on Thursday, while its workers would wear black bands as a sign of protest against their man's killing.

Following the killing violence erupted in several areas of the city including Empress Market, Bohri Bazar and Nipa Chowrangi. A person was also killed in Lasbella when unidentified armed men opened fire.

As violence spread to different parts of the city, shops, petrol and CNG stations were shut down.
Meanwhile, two cars and three motorcycles were set on fire in the Teen Hatti area. A passenger bus was also burnt at Nishtar Road.
